UBC has 25 instructional designers. GBC was hiring 9 id’s last spring. SLC = O. That’s not what the following article is really all about, it’s just something that makes me sad.
Tony Bates has again written a great article that discusses some considerations in developing online and hybrid instruction and asks us to question the academic reasons for hybrid learning. For me, the main considerations lies in the design of the online learning experience, the motivation of the learners,  and the resources in place to support both teachers and learners.
