09.15.2013. Designing Online Learning

Good basic points about designing online learning by  Richard Culatta for TedEd. Key points for me include:

  1. “Instructional design is essential to effective online learning.”
  2. Too often online courses are simply a dump of content to the learner. How True!!

Check out what he has to say:

I  like that he refers to the three channels of interaction by Moore.  Some organizations are getting it right by involving instructional designers in the process, but too many are simply taking SME material and handing it over to technical developers. Need to consider more design for interaction and learning.
